Senator McCain on Obama Admin Delaying Individual Mandate

Statement

Date: March 26, 2014
Location: Washington, DC

U.S. Senator John McCain (R-AZ) today released the following statement on the announcement by the Obama Administration that it is delaying the individual mandate under Obamacare, extending indefinitely the enrollment period beyond the March 31, 2014 deadline:

"The number of unilateral delays and changes made by this administration to Obamacare -- a law written exclusively by Democrats -- is almost beyond parody. Everyone understands why the March 31st deadline is being extended indefinitely: the administration is doing everything it can possibly do to meet the goal of enrolling seven million individuals into the exchanges. So despite frequent statements by top administration officials that the individual mandate would absolutely not be delayed, this announcement should not come as a surprise. Given the Obama Administration's lack of respect for the rule of law, it is no wonder why Americans increasingly oppose Obamacare and the Democrats' "leadership' in Washington."
